BREEAM Project – Retail store North London
We have completed a project helping the client gain the required BREEAM credits for certification in a brand new retail development in North London.  Our systems were designed to enable the client to gain BREEAM credits in the following categories:

  • HEA01 – Indoor Air Quality
  • HEA04 – Thermal Comfort
  • WAT01 – Water consumption
  • WAT02 – Water Monitoring
  • ENE01 – Reduction of Energy use and Carbon Emissions
  • ENE02 – Energy Monitoring
  • POL01 – Impact of refrigerants

Our control system monitors the indoor environment and controls fresh air input and heating/cooling in zoned areas. The system also optimises the running of all AC equipment to minimise running time and energy consumption while still maintaining a comfortable environment. Water consumption is monitored 24/7 with exception alarms to identify abnormal flow; along with zoned and main valve control based on occupancy to further reduce risk of wastage.  Energy is monitored from source and individual systems, this allows for power anomalies to be identified and maximum limits to be set and monitored; excess energy consumption is flagged and can be quickly resolved. With the ever increasing importance of pollution control the AC systems are monitored 24/7 for refrigerant leakage with automatic alarm escalation to aid rapid resolution and minimise any atmospheric leakage.

Water leak detection equipment is installed to identify any leakage and position, also linked to zone control to automatically close relevant valves; the alarm output giving positional information is quickly escalated to aid rapid resolution. Energy Saving Project for Blygold
One of our recent projects involved developing a monitoring system so the client could gather and present data to show effectiveness of specialist protective coatings applied to HVAC equipment. This involved both environmental measurements and energy consumption, which are trended at out data centre. The information is then converted into a report demonstrating the improved thermal conduction of the chiller coils and the reduced energy consumption by comparing the readings from before treatment and after treatment.
